We would like to inform you that the Graduate School Committee's review results regarding the qualifications and composition of the master's and doctoral thesis/dissertation defense committees for the Spring Semester of 2026 have been finalized as follows.

The Graduate School Committee has completed the approval for all applicants who applied for a thesis/dissertation defense in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

Accordingly, when conducting your defense, please ensure that it proceeds strictly according to the original committee composition approved by the Graduate School Committee.

In particular, please note that even if the committee members remain the same, swapping the roles between the Committee Chair and a Committee Member is strictly prohibited.

In principle, changing the committee members or their specific roles (i.e., changing roles between the Chair and a Member) is not permitted.

If a change in committee members or roles is unavoidable due to justifiable reasons, you must contact the department office by Tuesday, June 2nd to discuss the modification process.

Please be advised that if any committee members are changed, a re-evaluation by the Graduate School Committee is required, meaning that no defense can be conducted until June 17th.
